Congratulations to Kansas City artist Eric Abraham!
Growing up with artist parents, Eric has been creating art since he was a very small child. He holds a BFA in Painting from the Kansas City Art Institute and a MFA in Ceramics from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Eric decided to become a professional artist after joining the Air Force – and quickly realizing it was not for him! He felt that art was “the easiest and best thing (he) could do.”
Eric uses “tools of a potter” to create his elaborate pieces. The porcelain work is fired in reduction to cone 11/12 with gold, palladium and other lusters.
A self-admitted “book-a-holic”, Eric has an extensive library of art related books. He is inspired by the work of Florine Stettheimer, Red Grooms and Jackson Pollock, as well as Baroque and Rococo decorative art pieces.
In his Amazon.com best-selling book, Xanadu Gallery owner Jason Horejs shares insights gained over a life-time in the art business.
