Xanadu Director, Elaine, recently worked with New York City clients who are furnishing a second home on North Scottsdale. They stopped by the gallery and fell in love with a Penny Peterson. Elaine scheduled a time to show them the piece in their home.
I was able to deliver the piece and when we got it up into the space above the mantle the husband and I though it looked great – the wife walked in and said “No, I don’t like it.” That’s hard to recover from! The husband seemed a bit crestfallen, he really liked the piece, but after some talking we realized she just didn’t like it for the space above the fireplace. She found a spot going up a staircase leading to the balcony in the living room that was perfect for the painting. Once we got it there they decided they still wanted a painting by Penny above the fireplace and we will be meeting with them the first week of February, when they are back in town, to have Penny create the perfect piece for the space.
