In this week’s session we meet Oracle, Arizona artist M.E. Price and talk about his stylized landscape paintings. Price uses bold colors to create strong compositions, and often uses a black gesso for dramatic effect. Watch the session below.

What Questions Would you Like to Have Answered About Your Art During a Review Session? | I am open to most anything, but would like some feedback about my process/finished look. |
What is Your Website Address (Optional) | https://www.meprice-fineart. |
Love the colors and brush work. I am not into landscapes much yours are beautiful.
I don’t have a website but I do paint horses mostly in oils.
I am so glad I pulled up this critique session. The artist was so interesting. The paintings were bold and beautiful. He certainly has a recognizable style that should serve him well going forward.
Really love your interaction with different artists … the different styles and mediums.
Keep up the great work that you are doing. You give us hope!!
Someday I hope to see your gallery in person!
I don’t stop and watch EVERY Zoom session but I’m SO glad I saw this one. Mr. Price’s paintings are especially beautiful. Style of his work, color, composition – Not a one seems in any way unappealing to me. I truly feel as if I’ve benefitted from comments. I’m kind of new at painting and some have said they feel each of my pieces seems as if it could have been painted by a different person. I see my hand in them but some folks don’t see it in ALL of them. You seem to put a lot of emphasis on that area of concern, a recognizable “style.” It might be interesting to do a meeting on that subject. If you’d like to see some photos of my work to see what I mean, I’ll be happy to send some along. I’m always open to critique. I consider it like school.
I absolutely love this work. I’d be happy to represent your art at one or two of the fairs (NY/London) I attend annually. I’ll look you up!
I reiterate the comment about writing all info on the back canvas rather than the stretcher bars. I’ve done this for years and never send out a painting without my name, title, medium, size, website on the canvas. I don’t date–I keep that info in my file. Also, for documentation I staple a plastic envelope to the back of the stretcher with a statement about the painting and a brief bio. I love hearing artists share their experiences. It builds community.
