Video – Ask a Gallery Owner: How Do I Attract Buyers to My Gallery?

In this week’s session I answer a question from Damon in Delaware:

“I have owned my own gallery for about a year and a half now, where I sell my own original paintings and reproductions. Our season is around the corner and I’d love some advice on getting more foot traffic in the door. What have you found are your best practices in achieving said goal?”

In my response I discuss the importance of location, print advertising, social media marketing, and event marketing.

    1. No, though we do social media promotion of the catalog. The catalog is a bit different, it’s primarily focused on generating sales with our existing customers, rather than introducing new clients to the gallery.

Prepared a Portfolio that you thankfully reviewed and a bio. Do you have ideas that you offer on line about next step to be represented by a Gallery or sell on line
I am reluctant to make a wrong move by e mail or dropping them in person to local or out of state Gallery or collectors
    Please advise
